Russian pies

If you want to take a walk through a country through a delicious meal, you can do it with this delicious recipe. The Russian empanadas! They are so tasty, they will surely be the favorites of your menu. Take note and hands to work.


  • 2 cups and half of flour.
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 1 egg.

For the filling:

  • 1/4 kg of ground beef for filling.
  • 1 onion cut into small cubes.
  • Butter.
  • 1 tomato cut into cubes.
  • Salt and pepper.


First, you should mix in a bowl 2 cups of flour with a little salt and oil, adding the water little by little. Knead until you get a homogeneous mixture. If you notice that the dough is hard, you can add water and keep kneading. Then, on a previously floured surface, cut dough balls. Crush each one until they are approximately two millimeters thick.

For the filling, season the meat. Add a little butter to the pan; add the onion previously cut into small cubes; the tomato is cut in cubes and finally the meat. Cook over low heat, until well cooked.

Fill the masitas with the meat, close them and seal them by pinching the edges with a fork. Ideally, they should be like empanadas with different shapes, as well as the reference image. Cook the Russian empanaditas in boiling water for 20 minutes or until they float and that’s it!
